I was born in 1956, and next year I'll be 56 -
there's certain symmetry in the fact that
appeals to me.
Being prone to conceptual endeavours,
and to celebrate this happy coincidence,
I have decided to collect fifty six 56's
before I reach that tender age.
This is the first in my collection, and as such
is a complete fraud, being both a
number 5 and a number 6 found in close
proximity of each other - but this doesn't
matter, as iconically it is still a number 56.
